Yeah, yeah. It's a fine movie. Overlong, but that's only because of the pleasingly languorous pacing. Still, it ain't as good as everybody makes it out to be. And can anybody justify casting Marlon Brando, James Caan, John Savage, and Robert Duvall as the brain-trust of an Italian mob family? Thank God for Pacino.) The casting director should have been made to sleep with the fishes.

So just like the reason I joined Metacritic, once I seen there actually negative reviews for The Godfather on here I just had to sign up.

For anyone who has yet to see The Godfather, please do not believe any 'review' that gives this classic any less than 9/10. The negative reviews on here are laughable; one in particular by Revan is pathetic. Anyone who is stupid enough to genuinely think The Godfather is not a great movie has no idea what makes a good film what so ever.

The Godfather is near perfection; the most important aspect of any movie has to be the acting itself, which in the Godfather will blow you away. Featuring the greatest actor of all time, Marlon Brando, in one of best ever performances. The rest of the cast are almost as impressive with absolutely no weak performances at all.

The story is superb and totally compelling and its just one of those films that is so good you just do not want it to end. I actually envy people who have not seen it in a way, as that first time is the best.

Without any shadow of a doubt, the greatest gangster movie of all time, and probably the best movie of all time as well. Amazing.

I will stay away from any spoiler, so all I am going to tell you is: this movie should be mandatory for anyone to see. The story line, the passion, the scary reality of societies within our society. all revealed clear and real.

Brando is amazing. Probably one of his best roles ever. I am obviously new to the movie and saw it for the first time. I am huge fan of Al Pacino and wow this was a very boost to his career. Wow, Diane Keaton, my goodness she is amazing.

If you like the "mob / mafia" type of movies and enjoyed The Good Fellas, well this is going to be a top of it all. Enjoy it.

The Godfather has all the qualities of a great film. Everything in it is perfect. Francis Ford Coppola has done a marvelous job in directing. The cast is superb especially the Oscar-winning performance by Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone. Al Pacino's acting is phenomenal. It has the many of the greatest movie quotes of all time. It shows the humane side of Mafia and depicts it so beautifully that we are absorbed by it. It has immortalized Mario Puzo's novel. A movie of its caliber never becomes obsolete. It is also the most entertaining film. It is a magnificent portrayal of organized crime. The themes of the movie are sublime. It induces us to empathize with criminals. It is a timeless masterpiece and an exemplary film.
